Lone Tethys in Before Wide Shadows

Tethys appears to be alone against Saturn. Click for larger. NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute

The more I look at this image the more I really like it. Click the image above and take a good look at all the nice detail.  It’s almost like the picture was posed.

From the Cassini website:

Saturn’s moon Tethys orbits in front of the wide shadows cast by the rings onto the planet for this Cassini spacecraft view.
Tethys (660 miles, or 1,062 kilometers across) appears just below the rings near the center of the image. This view looks toward the northern, sunlit side of the rings from less than one degree above the ring plane.
The image was taken with the Cassini spacecraft wide-angle camera on Dec. 7, 2011 using a spectral filter sensitive to wavelengths of near-infrared light centered at 752 nanometers. The view was obtained at a distance of approximately 1.1 million miles (1.8 million kilometers) from Tethys. Image scale is 66 miles (107 kilometers) per pixel on Tethys.

  1. Hi my name is Chris and i have something to say. I have a certain theory , well two , but let us begin with my first. It may be possible that us humans are existing and re-existing in this universe by our power. Power (Energy)? What power, well let me say this , us humans and our existence is made up of many elements or a power that stays with us until we cease to exist and then is released into the vast pool of power in the universe. Maybe , just maybe our memories and what we did is still stored into that power but is lost after we die, ultimately causing us to loose recognition of our past doings and forcing us to believe that we never lived before we died. But Maybe we did live before and our power made us human, But with this power there is a vast amount of possibilities it could be turned into , such as a bird, dirt, water, air, a tree, or possibly anything. WE JUST NEED TO FIND OUT . What is this energy (Power) is .
