Five Years on Mars

Hey everybody, Sunday night make sure you tune into the National Geographic channel, and if you are not going to be around set your Tivo, recorders or whatever you have.

At 8:00 pm Eastern (check your local listings) They are premiering “Five Years on Mars”. This is a must see, plain and simple. Why was a broken wheel on Spirit a good thing? What went on to get Opportunity buried up to it’s “hubcaps” and how did they get it out? “Five Years on Mars” gives the whole history of one of the most successful space missions on record. You will find yourself cheering the rovers on, and laughing out loud.

This show is very-very well done. Watch and/or record it, you will be glad you did.

The second program is “Calling all Aliens”, and premiers on the National Geographic channel at 10 pm Eastern (again check your local listings).

You will learn about the search for extraterrestrial life from its beginnings to where it’s heading in the future.

You will meet Frank Drake, who many (like me) consider the father of SETI.  See quite a bit of the Allen Array and even find out how an old “Chock Full of Nuts” coffee can is helping the search; oh almost forgot, there is a nice segment on hunting for extra solar planets.

Are aliens really being quiet for a reason?  Hmmmm.  :-D

I have a comcast Digital. When I move forward on the remote to Monday at 8:00 (this is guide) it doesn’t have the shows on NGC for the date & times that you have listed above.

Bobby, the shows are on SUNDAY, I erroneously put Saturday (mainly because I had Saturday on the brain). Check your listing though, because it is on my listing. If you are at all interested in the Rovers you will want to see the show — I’ve seen it and it is excellent.

Hey, does anyone know what the musical score for the rover show is called? It’s gorgeous. Want to figure out a way to download it.
